Luxuria, performed by the Scottish Dance Theatre, is utterly beautiful in its story, dress and dance.
A signature work for the SDT and choreographed by Liv Lorent, Luxuria stuns with passionate struggles and romantic representations of fierce love and love-making, all done in lush costumes that make this production so spellbinding, both dramatically and simply, as four girl/boy couples rely on one another for balance while all remain still in lucidly limp control of themselves.
Only 39 minutes, it is a picture of intense intimacy, performed against appropriately piercing compositions by Tsabropoulos, Richter and Silvestrov. Physically impressive beyond words and a visual masterpiece that is so sweetly sensual, Luxuria leaves you feeling embraced.
