His set, entitled Not so Common Sense, drew from the quirky, random and odd facts we all see in our day to day lives without realising their importance. The wit created from such ordinary observations as eating a pack of crisps whilst listening to bad news or answering a phone in the most annoying way is what makes Regan such a well-timed observational stand-up.
His opening sequence, shown on a big screen, of a Michael Jackson concert in China with his face stuck over MJ’s set the precedent for endearing humility, which he effortlessly continued throughout. However, Regan did not push any boundaries with his hour and though enjoyable did not move beyond his comfort zone of geniality.
As a relative newcomer his hard work and potential will certainly pay off in the future. The charm is in abundance and surely experience will deliver the substance that this show needed to take it to the next level.
