In the dark depths of the Gilded Balloon, Fringe-goers can find themselves transported across the Atlantic Ocean to the gruesome underbelly of a Peruvian jail, where two young, supposedly victimised drug mules are being held.
The young actresses execute an incredibly versatile two-hander, conjuring an array of characters from the mere movement of their mouths and bodies, bringing the victims plight to immediate attention.
The beginning would benefit from a faster pace but the show picks up in no time as the performers grow into the roles that they have undertaken. The brilliant and award-winning Kat Woods holds true to her reputation, combining considerations on media manipulation with an intimate environment to leave the audience questioning the very nature of broadcast news.
