Overshadowed is a deeply emotional and frank telling of life with an eating disorder. Through the story of Imogen, a teenager who develops anorexia, the audience witness its effects on her psyche, her family and friends.

An intense play that tackles a serious issue in a distinctive and memorable way, it successfully captures the raw emotion and suffering Imogen experiences. By using a physical embodiment of anorexia, appearing like the monstrous villain in the shadows, Overshadowed visualises the internal battle faced by someone suffering from an eating disorder. A strong narrative runs throughout, exploring relationships from a realistic perspective and enforcing how anorexia impacts more than just one person.

Overshadowed is an enlightening and heartbreaking piece of theatre that opens the eyes of its audience.
