The Fringe is well endowed in the way of risqué, taste-dependent, adult-only shows, but Strawberry Siren assures you straight off the bat that this isn’t the kind of show that gets anyone pregnant. Siren may be witty, but this show is no joke. Pussy Play Masterclass should be mandatory viewing for anyone with a vested interest in vaginas.

The session walks you through the essential parts of the vagina and quickly dives into play-dough model making and demonstrations. “Practice makes perfect,” chimes Siren as she displays the “rise and shine” motion, urging everyone to follow along on their own hand-crafted vulvas.

Each attendee walks away with their own bright pink pamphlet of techniques for masturbation or stimulation. It comes complete with a labeled diagram of the vagina and a guide to naming your own genitalia. Whether or not you want to take home your colourful sculpted pussy is up to you. Siren is a cabaret queen and a Mormon preacher’s daughter with all the cheer, pep and encouragement of a primary school teacher. Sporting big purple, heart-shaped earrings reading “pussy,” she passionately and optimistically champions attention for vaginas.

Penises are openly celebrated, she explains, but education about vaginas is often lacking. The female orgasm is elusive and complex, but her show captures the nuance, carefully exploring different circumstances and techniques for finding it. “Thank you for coming,” she giggles at the end, but the Fringe should be thanking her.
