Putting The Band Back Together is for anyone who looks back at their life and realises, for inexplicable reasons, they turned their back on something that really makes them happy. Personal stories are shared by theatre makers Alex Elliott and Maria Crocker and singer/songwriter Ross Millard (the Futureheads). Together they are on a mission to reform bands up and down the country.
There’s a homely feel and positive energy about the whole performance. The house band led by Millard is made up from audience members who took part in an afternoon jam session (their website has details on how to get involved), the energetic Crocker bounces round the stage like a firecracker, personifying different emotions while Elliott shares the heart-breaking story that sparked the movement.
An uplifting show about the mixed emotions, vulnerabilities and gratification of playing in a band, why people give it up and why you should never give it up.
