A New Case of Jekyll and Hyde

A New Case of Jekyll and Hyde is a fresh and modern reimagining of the classic Stevenson tale that we all know so well. In a society where duality is so omnipresent and the Gothic story never more popular, this show fits right in as an original and creative adaptation. Mrs Jekyll is struggling to care for her husband who suffers from PTSD and after finding a diary from an old relative, Dr Jekyll, she recreates his concoction to use to her own ends.

Although an intelligent adaptation that is well written and developed – no easy feat among the streams of adaptations of Jekyll and Hyde. However, the performance is not always convincing and some of the cast seem to lack refinement in their roles.

A New Case of Jekyll and Hyde is a refreshing story which could truly succeed with more work.
