There isn’t really a theme or linear narrative to Chris Turner’s AAA Batteries; whilst this isn’t a negative thing, it does leave the show with little focus. That’s really the only sour note to comment on though as the rest of the show is sharp. Unbelievably, Turner manages to shape his craft around any subject and maintains a good rapport with the room, taking comments from the audience, constructing a rap and obtaining every ounce of mirth out of the crowd. Turner’s stage presence is friendly and comfortable; keeping adults, children and teens alike rejoicing.

Gracing us tonight with an impromptu guest appearance is Tom Walker who will be headlining AAA Batteries for the remainder of its run. Enjoy a game of imaginary tennis? How about feats of wizardry with no actual cards? Walker provides a bombastic routine which is a welcome addition.
