BaBoom! consists of three very loosely connected, very daft sketches. Marny Godden, Tom Turner and Andrew Mudie have perfected a brand of surreal, character-based whimsy: narratives of epic proportions, assured set-pieces, and a confidence in developing obscure and notional scenarios. Stylistically, they’re reminiscent of TV shows like Look Around You and Garth Marenghi in fusing a retro style, flat delivery and a predilection towards nonsense.

My one criticism is that sometimes the characters and plots echo previous ones, which is understandable as their formula obviously works. But given this, maybe a full-length piece would have made more sense? Still, this show is totally grand.
