Much of James Veitch’s show focuses on the banal, but nothing about Game Face is likely to bore. Telling tales of penalty charge appeals, spam emails and wrong numbers, Veitch has skilfully managed to transform the usually mundane into something extraordinarily imaginative and undoubtedly hilarious.

His loveably geeky persona and Woody Allen looks complement his brilliantly nerdy gags on internet trolling, online gaming and a woefully unsuccessful love life. Clever usage of a projector screen showing ridiculous graphs, preposterous email exchanges and funny home videos make what is already an incredibly engaging show an absolute delight to watch.

Veitch has audience members of all ages cackling throughout and puts on a truly unmissable show. This comedian is certainly one to watch and Game Face might just be the stand-out stand-up show of the Fringe this year.
