Katy Brand returns to the Fringe for the first time in eleven years with I Was a Teenage Christian.
Witty, personable and extremely likeable, Brand entertains with anecdotes about her time as a teenage Christian at her local church. Particular highlights include crushes on her Christian band mate as well as her Blue Peter debut.
Despite witty interjections and humorous reflections, I Was a Teenage Christian fails to bring the show to its climax. Brand, who is undeniably funny, draws out a most engaging anecdotal piece but if you’re looking for side-splitting stand up then this probably isn’t the show to see.
