As South African comedians who grew up on the Isle of Mann go, I’d say Pierre Novellie rates right at the top.
Sweet, whimsical and often poignant, Novellie has the audience on side from his first moments and we stay with him all the way to the end, sides aching with laughter. With an open and honest tone, he faces up to many of society’s taboos and stigmas, inviting us to see the world through his own eyes and we are all the better for it.
Sharp and intelligent, he layers hilarious gags on solid, emotive grounding, creating a refreshing and satisfying show. Pierre Novellie will leave you smiling long after the show’s end and fighting the urge to buy another ticket.
