Based on the book The Scarecrows’ Wedding by Julia Donaldson, this show follows the tale of two scarecrows in love, Betty O’Barley and Harry O’Hay, who want to have the best wedding ever.
The show starts off a little subdued at first and is quite calming for the kids, which I thought was great however my son wasn’t so keen. For this reason, I’m sure, my son didn’t take much of an interest until half way through when Reginald Rake (also a scarecrow) turns up and causes all sorts of trouble.
There isn’t any audience participation but there are some really catchy songs and it’s a love story for the kids to enjoy, especially if you’ve read the book to them at home. My son hadn’t read the book, hence why I think he didn’t take as much of an interest until the exciting parts.
