It is about time the Fringe welcomes a show like Trigger Warnings. Zoë Coombs Marr does not hold back in criticising the modern obsession with being “triggered”, perpetually offended and how political correctness has spiralled out of control. Through her alter –ego, Dave, a laddish and quite frankly boisterous character, she mocks the effect this is having on comedy today.
Dave, who feels forced to perform mime, pushes the show to the absolute brink of absurdity. Audacious, sharp and deliberately slapstick at times, Trigger Warnings is brilliantly clever and it is no surprise that the show ended with a strong standing ovation.
If you want to see something honest and hilariously modern, Trigger Warnings will be the highlight of your Fringe.
