Mime double act, Gamarjobat, return to the festival with a show based on the first Rocky. It’s a hoot. It’s been a decade since the Japanese double act’s Fringe debut, and they’ve worn the years well.
Fifteen minutes of expert tomfoolery to warm us up, and then a loving rendition – accomplished, unfussy and affecting – of the Sylvester Stallone film. Ketch! and HIRO-PON share an enviable precision in their physicality, willfully undermined by an incessant silliness.
It’s maybe not the most cerebral show in the world, but who ever asked for that? This show is uncomplicated, wholesome and infectious fun, and you should go.
