Have you ever watched the Tony Awards? During the ceremony, you watch individual scenes from musicals and that little snippet can make you want to go and watch the whole production. That is the effect Willy’s Bitches has, a brilliant selection of musical numbers from Shakespeare’s back catalogue that leaves you pinning for entire productions of each.

The Royal Conservatoire take the Bard’s best comedic and tragic female characters and give them centre stage, a sonnet and a score.  Cast members have excellently crafted solos and duet, written by the brilliant Shannon Thurston, sympathetic to their characters and to Shakespearean language.

The cast are superb, gutsy and passionate, and they revel in the depth of their characters; their cunning, their humour and their vulnerability. Willy’s Bitches proves that these 400 year old characters are still relevant today. Well worth a watch.
